Bring one real problem to the session
The people who get the most out of an hour with us arrive with something specific they are stuck on. Not a topic. A problem, with its detail...
Read moreSessions come out of the questions we are already being asked, not out of a content calendar.
We do not plan a quarter of seminars in advance. We read what comes into the inbox, and when the same question arrives from four unconnected people in a month, that question becomes a session.
It is a slower way of choosing topics and it has one clear advantage: by the time we stand up to talk about something, we have already answered it in writing several times, badly at first and then well. The session is the good version.
It also means the schedule can be influenced. A question sent through the form on the FAQ page is read by a person, and the ones that keep coming back get an hour of their own.
What we will not do is run a session on something we have not done ourselves. There is enough of that about. If a subject is outside what the group actually builds and operates, we would rather point you at someone who does it than talk around it for an hour.

Most of what goes wrong at the start of a seminar is fixable beforehand, and takes about ten minutes.
